The charity is devoted to upholding the key objective of maintaining the grounds for the benefit of Backwell residents and for the provision of recreation and leisure activities.
We are always looking to represent the views and wishes of the community. In 2020 we did a survey which provided great insights into the feelings of villagers on the future of the playing fields.
Our Latest Achievements
New Playground Equipment
New Pathway to the Playground

We are very grateful to North Somerset Council, National Lottery Good Causes and Bristol Airport for their financial support.
Thank you to to Signet Signs of Clevedon who have done an amazing job in very cold conditions getting these installed!

Thank you to local firm Blue Dot Construction who completed the paths and to Backwell Parish Council who gave match-funding to support the work. We also received donations from a local resident who has been raising funds on behalf of the Playing Fields and asked for the money to be put towards the pathway into the Rodney Road play area. We hope you agree that the new paths make a fantastic addition to the playing fields!
Future goals
Based on feedback from our survey we are looking at other areas to develop and improve. Some of the most poplar include:
- Rain Shelters
- Continuation of the footpath all the way around the Fields
- Climbing Boulder
- A Multi User Sports Area (MUGA)
- New fitness equipment
- Water point
- Toilets
